To pamper and love your pets like they're our own, raising the bar for what is seen as acceptable care for our pets and redefining the term “luxury”.Before booking your pet's appointment with us, we invite all pet parents to review our salon policies. These guidelines aren't just rules; they're the foundation of a safe, cozy environment where pets and our team thrive together. By scheduling with Tailored Tails, you're not just making an appointment; you're joining our family and embracing our commitment to exceptional care.

Vaccination Requirements

To stay compliant with NJ state law, we require your pets Rabies and Parvo/Distemper (DHPP) vaccine records to be up-to-date and on file. We will cancel your appointment if your pet is unable to meet our vaccination requirements.

No-Rush Policy

At Tailored Tails, we whole heartedly believe in the art of unhurried grooming, unlike any ordinary salon experience. Each session is an opportunity to bond with your pet, prioritizing their comfort and well-being above all else. We like to give pets breaks, and make them feel comfortable. Rushing through any grooming session is not only unrealistic but also unsafe and unpleasant for both the pet and the stylist.

As we begin working with your pet, we take the time to thoroughly assess their skin, temperament, and coat... ensuring that every moment spent with us is tailored to their unique needs and preferences. Following this assessment, we are happy to provide you with a time estimate for your pet's grooming session upon your request, empowering you to plan your day with confidence. 3-4 hours is very typical for most of our beloved clients!

Cancellation + No Show + Rescheduling + Late Arrival

Every cancellation, no-show, or rescheduling represents a missed opportunity to schedule an appointment with another client. Once you schedule an appointment, we dedicate our stylist’s times for your pet and do not make changes. There are no exceptions to this policy.

  • We require a credit card on file to reserve an appointment in our salon. We may require a deposit for new clients or those who consistently reschedule or cancel appointments.

  • We send out reminders when you book an appointment. We will email and text an additional reminder 48 hours before your appointment. If you need to cancel or reschedule, we require a 48-hour notice to avoid cancellation fees.

  • We will charge you 50% of the service fee (per pet) if you are a no-call, no-show, or cancel on the appointment day. Otherwise, if you cancel with less than 48-hour notice, we will charge you a $35 (per pet) fee for the cancellation. Fees are non-refundable. We understand emergencies happen and will take this into consideration.

  • Please arrive on time. We may be unable accept appointments that are more than 15 minutes late. We will partially charge you for a missed appointment, and must reschedule for an alternate time. We require pre-payment when a client is late for two or more previous appointments.

First-Time + Colorwork Deposits

We require a $35 deposit to be placed for all first-time clients. This deposit will be directly applied to the cost of your service.

We also require a $100 deposit for all creative sessions. Creative sessions include dye work, airbrush, coat carving, and full-body art. This deposit will be directly applied to the cost of your service.

Pricing

Pricing depends on breed, coat length, skin/coat condition, temperament, age, and grooming history. We charge an additional $1 per minute to service pets with heavily matted coats. We work patiently with pets of all temperament types utilizing our expertise to train your pet to love the grooming process! We will, however, charge extra for excessive aggression or handling needs.

Pick-up

We are a salon and do not currently provide daycare services. We will notify you with a phone call or text message when we finish with your pup. We require them to be picked up within a half hour of notification or extended stay fees will apply.
